Does TapTable work as a standalone POS system or is a third-party POS system required?

Currently TapTable is not a standalone POS and requires a user to have an active Square POS account in order to create products and process payments and orders. If you do not yet have a POS system or you are thinking of changing, visit here to learn more about Square for Restaurants.


What is the payment processing fee on TapTable?

Square’s current UK pricing (2020) is as follows:

  • In-person: 1.75%
  • Online: 2.5%
    • Merchants processing over £250,000 can contact Square directly for custom pricing.

      Do you charge a commission on sales?

      No, we operate a flat monthly, quarterly or annual fee.


      Can I customise the menu with my branding?

      Yes, your logo is automatically imported into your TapTable menu from your Square account. Images and descriptions are also imported for your items.


      Does TapTable collect details for NHS Test & Trace?

      Yes, within TapTable’s Restaurant Settings you will see an option to enable ‘NHS Test and Trace’. Doing so will add a new section to your checkout flow which asks guests for their name and telephone number. Once a guest has entered this data it will be pre-populated on future orders meaning less things to enter.
